Book Review – The Adventure Zone: Murder on the Rockport Limited!

By Griffin, Travis and Clint McElroy

The McElroy Brothers are some of the funniest people on the planet. They make a podcast called The Adventure Zone where they play Dungeons and Dragons with their Dad, and it’s so good that they are making a series of graphic novels retelling the story. Follow Taako the wizard/failed TV chef, Magnus Burnsides the fighter, and Merle the incompetent cleric as they solve a railroad murder mystery and recover one of the Grand Relics that are threatening to destroy the world.

Author Review – Fredrik Backman

042716_Fredrik_Backman_by_Edward_KoinbergFredrik Backman stories are quirky and upbeat, telling the tales of a diverse group of eccentric characters in modern-day Sweden. From obsessive compulsive Britt-Maree taking on the challenges of single life to a young girl exploring the magical and real world created by her grandmother, Backman novels are both funny and heartwarming. These books deal with real life issues whilst being light-hearted and entertaining. A totally different kind of setting to the darker side of Sweden we know from the Wallander and Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series!
