Book Review – Before the Coffee Gets Cold

Cover image for Before the coffee gets cold : tales from the cafe / Toshikazu Kawaguchi ; translated from the Japanese by Geoffrey Trousselot.

By Toshikazu Kawaguchi

Imagine a small café where you can travel back in time. This is a moving story of four visitors to the café, hoping to take advantage of the magic for many different reasons. However, you must follow the rules. To sit in one particular seat. To stay in the cafe. You also have to return to the present before the coffee gets cold. I really loved this book, and I can’t wait to read the sequel!

Book Review – Where the Crawdads Sing

Cover image for Where the crawdads sing / Delia Owens.

By Delia Owens

Nicholas Sparks meets David Attenborough in this debut by zoologist Delia Owens. It is a ‘whodunit’ that jumps back and forwards in time, a love letter to mother nature as well as a tale of extreme poverty, loneliness and resilience.
