Book Review – The Barefoot Surgeon

By Ali Gripper

Dr Sanduk Ruit was born into an impoverished family in Nepal. He became a gifted eye surgeon and has spent his life giving the gift of sight to thousands of poor and isolated people in the Himalayas and around the world. He was mentored by Fred Hollows . Like Fred he could have made a lucrative income as an eye surgeon but instead chose to serve the poor.

This inspirational story gives us courage to rise above hardships and achieve our dreams. I found the book jumped a bit in time which made it a little harder for me to read but was still very enjoyable.
